This special edition gold pieces have undergone three firings, the last one containing Gold Luster, which is an overglaze containing 14k gold.

In the pueblos originarios, gold was a manifestation of the sacred associated with the sun. In Colombia, ceramic pieces containing gold were offered to the gods. The combination of ceramic and gold reflected the deep belief that material objects could serve as vessels for spiritual strength, honoring the gods and reinforcing the harmonious relationship between humans and the natural world.

Our inspiration for these pieces came from a visit to the Laguna de Guatavita a sacred site to our ancestros the Muysca, where they made their ofrendas and pagamentos.
